Watford pencil in community service

Watford have, once again, pencilled a spot of community service into their diary after agreeing to a pre-season friendly with our non league near neighbours, Wealdstone FC, on Wednesday 28th July.

The Hornets have not always found St Georges Stadium a happy hunting ground in recent close seasons but it will be a good opportunity for the fringe players, youngsters and the odd trialist to get a run out.

Full credit to Wealdstone. The Ryman League side have built up decent relationships with Watford in recent years – most notably giving the likes of John Joe O`Toole, Billy Gibson, Theo Robinson and er, Alex Campana invaluable experience on loan – and always give account of themselves in friendlies.

Watford won last season`s encounter 3-0 with goals from Graham, Ellington and Priskin (remember Claude Beauvue?) but went down 3-1 the season before.
