The Watford Observer expects the experienced trio of Jay DeMerit, Jon Harley and Will Hoskins to be released by the club when their contracts finish at the end of June.

Although there is no official word from the club, all three have yet to be offered new deals by the club and it seems increasingly unlikely that they will be offered new deals. Along with Harley, Hoskins and DeMerit, youngsters Lewis Young, Jonathan North and Billy Gibson are also set to be let go.

The future of skipper DeMerit looks to have been away from the Vic` for some while, ever since the American International decided he would wait until after the World Cup to discuss a new deal. Gaffer Malky Mackay though has made clear that the former Northwood centre-back`s future lies elsewhere:

Jay is out of contract and financially we are not in a position to offer him a new contract and he has the World Cup.

‘I don’t even think Jay knows what is going to happen after the World Cup yet but he goes with my best wishes.’
The Scot told the Watford Observer

Another youngster in Jordan Parkes has been told he can find a new club this Summer despite having a year remaining on his contract. The local lad has not featured for the first-team since Autumn 2008 and spent part of pre-season on trial at Gillingham and Bournemouth.

Worryingly there is no word as to how talks with vice-captain John Eustace are coming along but no news is surely good news!
