Head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has said that Watford will remain humble following today’s fantastic victory over Liverpool and he credited other so called smaller sides in the Premier League for making it one of the best year’s yet with the look of the table.

In quotes carried by the Standard from his post game press interviews, an obviously thrilled gaffer explained that with four wins on the spin, he was clearly happy, but nobody would be getting carried away.

They would however be enjoying it.

‘I don’t want to talk about that. It is the moment to enjoy after this match, I like the happiness and I want to enjoy, the fans to enjoy. We should be humble. This is our one advantage, because the Premier League is very tough. We have a lot of matches to play. We never underestimate the teams we play. Of course we want to dream but we want to remain humble.’

With Odion Ighalo’s goal record in 2015 now standing at 28 following his brace earlier today, he has scored more this calender year than any other forward in the professional game, and whilst he came in for praise once more from Flores, the manager was quick to point to the fact his success was on the back of the hard work of the team.

‘He is always close to the box, always shooting and creating attempts, he deserves it. But of course it depends on the players, we create like a collective. We are completely happy with the performance. It was an amazing victory against an amazing team.’

Five on the spin on Boxing Day for Guus Hiddink`s first game in charge of his second spell as Chelsea interim manager?

Would certainly make Christmas.

As for his praise of others, he added.

‘The main thing for the Premier League is the humble teams are able to do what they have done this season. It is incredible that Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford are producing great performances. Everyone is competitive and that is amazing for the league. Nobody knows what will happen when teams play Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea. That`s because the humble teams are playing really, really well. That is why I believe the Premier League is an example for the rest of the leagues in Europe.’
