See how the Hornets out on loan fared this weekend…

Another interesting round of matches for Hornets out on loan saw Javi Acuna get himself on the score sheet for his side Osasuna.

Acuna was a 67th minute substitute for an Osasuna side 2-0 down at half time at home to Sevilla. Despite Acuna’s introduction, the result did not change but he did at least add a consolation to the scoring, pulling a goal back in stoppage time.

Diego Fabbrini was again an unused substitute as his club Siena continued their good run with a 1-0 victory away from home at Avellino.

Iriney also missed out for Real Mallorca again through suspension as two late goals saw them come from behind to grab a late victory over Real Madrid B.

Back in the UK and Saturday saw Connor Smith’s Gillingham take on Uche Ikpeazu’s Crewe Alexandra. Whilst Smith was not picked in the squad of 18 for the game at Priestfield, Ikpeazu started for the Railwaymen and played nearly the whole game, being withdrawn in the final minute of stoppage time as they ran down the clock on their impressive 3-1 away victory.

Nyron Nosworthy got another 90 minutes under his belt at Bristol City as they drew 2-2 at relegation threatened Colchester. The result was tinged with some disappointment for the Robins however as they led 2-0 going into the final 15 minutes.

Reece Brown also played a full game at the weekend but endured a torrid afternoon as his Carlisle side slipped into the relegation zone in League One following a 4-1 hammering away to bottom side Notts County.

There was no Bernard Mensah for Braintree this weekend following the injury he picked up in their previous game against Lincoln City. However Alex Jakubiak did come on as an 88th minute substitute and helped Braintree see out a 1-0 victory at home to struggling Aldershot.
