The Watford Observer has reported that ex-Watford FC owner Laurence Bassini has lost his High Court battle with the Russo brothers.

The Russos claimed they were owed in excess of £3.6million, following a loan deal that was seen as a non-repayable cash injection by Bassini.

Mr Bassini, who owned Watford Football Club between May 2011 and June 2012, has this morning been told he must pay back all money borrowed, as well as £568,000 in interest and £150,000 in court costs.

Mr Bassini’s freezing injunction on his assets has also been extended, a continuation of the ban on any asset movement whatsoever on Bassini’s part.

Further to this, Mr Bassini will not be allowed to appeal the decision.

There will be more details on this story as soon as we have further information.
