Willo not fit to wear Watford shirt

Mike Williamson is indeed correct – he is unfit ? not fit to wear the Watford shire that is. His antics over the last 48 hours – after seeing a transfer request turned down – seemingly have proved that.

Watford turned down a transfer request and an official bid of an alleged £2m for the centre half they saved from the footballing wilderness at Wycombe just 9 months ago but it appears that Williamson can`t do the club the decency of showing the respect and dignity you`d expect of a professional (yes Mike – ‘professional`) footballer and just get on with things like a man?

Oh no, instead Williamson decided that he`d declare himself ‘unfit to travel to Swansea` – ruling himself unavailable for selection – presumably with a bruised ego and itchiness in his fingers at the thought of a big fat signing on fee at Fratton Park!!!

Or maybe it was a strain in his neck from having his head turned by the big league despite being, what appears to be, a sulky Championship novice with jumped up aspirations of being a big time charlie ?

Selfish? Potentially. Unprofessional? Absolutely.

It might be revealed that Mike is in fact injured but we won`t hold our breath and even Malky didn’t seem to think so.

Let`s not forget that Williamson trained without problem on Thursday and played a full 120 minutes at Leeds just 48 hours earlier?

Interestingly, Braveheart Watford boss, Malky Mackay simply said “anyone I want wearing a yellow jersey has to want to play for the club and to come out and give their all” – which kinda says it all really.

No-one is bigger than the club.

Here at VitalWatford, we say fine him heavily, remind of his 4 year contract, pack him off to the reserves and let him train with the Academy boys… just to be on the safe side.
