Watford lose out in Douglas race

Its all speculation but, here at VitalWatford, we can only imagine that Watford will be mightily miffed to have lost out to Dundee United in the race to sign up Queens Park`s hot prospect left back, Barry Douglas.

The Hornets had been on the trail of the highly fancied 20 year old all summer and reports north of the border revealed Malky Mackay`s men were favourites to land the talented Spiders defender after he walked away from a new contract with the Scottish League 2 outfit.

Now Douglas, who postponed any decision until after his holibobs, has been unveiled as Dundee United`s new signing and he`s been signed as cover!!!

Douglas has originally said that he favoured English footie over that on offer in the SPL but clearly, despite holding talks with Watford, his head has been swayed by the tantalising offer of sitting on the bench during failure in the preliminary rounds of the Europa League!

It`s refreshing to hear a young footballer say that “money is not important at this stage in my career” though?

Here at VitalWatford, we are worried just what kind of talent we CAN tempt to sign on the dreaded dotted at Vicarage Road if we can`t capture a player who`s just signed his first pro deal.
