Aidy Boothroyd has admitted his return to Vicarage Road was the first thing on his mind when Coventry`s fixture list came out – and he`s “looking forward to going back“.

And, let`s face it, a trip to WD18 just 2 weeks into the season and as Watford opening opponents at home in the new campaign will be right up his Sky Blue street? especially with Cov still reeling from being rumbled at the Ricoh by the Hornets on the last day of last season.

Boothroyd told the Coventry TelegraphIf I am honest, the Watford game was the first one I looked for. It will be the first time I have been back so it adds a bit of spice to the fixture.

Whether that ‘spice` turns out to be a delicate mix that`s a treat on the palette or a rancid ol` gloop with a nasty after taste, here at VitalWatford Towers, we await to see.

Sir Aidy added “I have some wonderful memories from my time at Vicarage Road where I worked with some great people and made a lot of friends” – which is all very nice so we beg you Boothroyd, please no MultiBall or ‘game management` so early on in the campaign!
