The Hornets went down 1-0 to a Craig Mackail-Smith penalty, the Watford supporter scoring from 12 yards after a Daniel Pudil foul.

Gianfranco Zola’s side were denied two clear-cut penalties in the second half as they piled on the pressure.

Here’s what our followers made of our fourth straight defeat…

@tuckerandco ‘don’t want to hear moans about ref can’t be dependent on them for pens. Quite simply not good enough! Where is Anya? He’s good.’

@JackHally ‘Frustration. We Clearly need a Mackail-Smith type. #MissedOut on the signature last season. Bangs them in weekly. #goalmachine’

@HayleyBrunsden ‘I thought we passed the ball around well today, but we’ve got no clinical finisher up top.’

@WFCforums “We shouldn’t need to rely on the ref giving us penalties to win games. Chalobah looks a very good prospect. #WatfordFC”
