See what the Twitterati made of this evening’s defeat by Brighton & Hove Albion

In a brand new feature here on VitalWatford we bring you the views of some of our Twitter followers following the game. Remember @VitalWatford on Twitter to get your opinion out there!

The Hornets went down 1-0 to a Craig Mackail-Smith penalty, the Watford supporter scoring from 12 yards after a Daniel Pudil foul.

Gianfranco Zola’s side were denied two clear-cut penalties in the second half as they piled on the pressure.

Here’s what our followers made of our fourth straight defeat…

@AdamVessey ‘Three straight defeats, can’t score and a leaky defence. Normal start to a #Watfordfc season right…? #Midtable’

@tuckerandco ‘don’t want to hear moans about ref can’t be dependent on them for pens. Quite simply not good enough! Where is Anya? He’s good.’

@JackHally ‘Frustration. We Clearly need a Mackail-Smith type. #MissedOut on the signature last season. Bangs them in weekly. #goalmachine’

@HayleyBrunsden ‘I thought we passed the ball around well today, but we’ve got no clinical finisher up top.’

‏@thealexofsmith ‘so unlucky tonight with the penaltys! it was still such a mistake to let taylor go’

‏@daveanderson96 ‘What went right? The play. What went wrong? The decisions. What should change? The referee. #watfordfc’

@ChrisBottom16 Get Ekstrand, Chalobah, McGinn, Battocchio, Bia and Geijo in that team and sqaud and giv em a month an were explode!

@CM_WatfordFC ‘#short&tweet PATIENCE. THAT IS ALL. It’s coming.#watfordfc’

@mchamberlain44 ‘we can have all the possession we want,we don’t do enough in final 3rd. Irritating to watch, not sure what we are trying to do’

@RookeryMike ‘6 games in is not the time to judge. Patience is a virtue…’

@WFCforums “We shouldn’t need to rely on the ref giving us penalties to win games. Chalobah looks a very good prospect. #WatfordFC”

We need something Saturday… Apart from a miracle… Am I the only one who finds this passing football boring?? Only two real crosses tonight from Leo B… Problem is he needs to be on the end of them…. I’m gutted…. I really do think we would have more points with the team we had last season… Fighting more to keep what we had & maybe adding a few loans would have been a better plan in my view… Losing becomes a habit like winning does…..

Hold on a minute fella, You were the only one on here to pooh pooh our team and was glad Dyche went, ridiculed the players and pointed out that we will not be buying low grade players, but quality and that Zola was the Man! After 6 games you are now saying you are wrong? This time last year you were calling for Dyches head. It’s frustrating granted but your not gonna build a team in 3 months and expect everything to be smooth. We all want the club to do well, I doubt even Zola knows what his best team is yet. Time!

Any one notice the increase in price of coffee?

Zola is paid to know his best team… That’s just a cop out… The players can’t even speak English… Zola needs to be more flexible in the way we play… Passing the ball to death can only work with players who can do it… Swansea had it… They bought the players to fit the system.. We have got players first then tried to teach the players how to play that way… It’s very hard to get a footballer to play a system they don’t know….

This is a revolution. It’s all change, and unfortunately that means it won’t happen over night. We have to fully immerse ourselves in this, this is the way we’re going to be doing it under Zola and the Pozzo’s and it has a track record. There are some many factors going against Zola but six games is no time, nor is six months. It might take a couple of seasons but that’s the nature of change. COYHs
