Malky Mackay has spread his scouting wings in search of a new goalkeeper, prompting speculation that Watford’s young Lion, Scott Loach, may well be leaving the Vic’ in the near future.

Sources at imscouting.com claim that Watford have launched a loan bid for 37 year-old Egyptian ‘keeper Essam Al Hadary on loan.

The 114 cap Egyptian stopper currently plies his trade for Egyptian Premier League side, Ismaily. However in 2008-2009 he left to join Swiss outfit FC Sion which caused controversy as previous club, Al-Ahly, for whom he played over 500 games claimed they would never have sold him as they had only three goalkeepers registered. However, Al-Hadary returned to his homeland this season to join Ismaily and intends to play at the 2014 World Cup after Egypt were eliminated in the Play Offs by England’s group oon loan last seaspponents, Algeria, in a North African grudge match.

Watford are alleged to have offered 168,000Euros for his loan services, or about £147,000 odd, off the top of my head!

A spokesperson for the Ismaily board had this to say:

‘Some of Ismaily’s officials have reservations about the offer because they believe it’s not financially rewarding.’

The underlying question following this is, will Scott Loach remain at Vicarage Road or not? It’s going to be a tense final week of the window!
