GOLDEN PAGES is a new fanzine set up for Watford FC fans to share their thoughts and creativity through a medium which isn`t 100 per cent virtual.

With Watford FC riding the wave of jubilation that has come with promotion back to the Premier League, it`s fair to say being a Hornets fan is pretty exciting right now – especially as we have the chance to win a league title on Saturday. But despite all the success (and there`s been a lot of it!), this season hasn`t been plain sailing. So with almost as many ups and downs as the infamous ‘Zolacoaster`, it`s fair to say Watford fans haven`t been without topics to discuss.

So why have a fanzine? Blogs, websites and social media are fantastic. They have vastly broadened the experience of following football in recent years, and for that we can only be grateful.

But with this ‘conversion to digital`, something has been lost.

I find there to be something special about having something physical in your hands, something you can buy on a match-day and read even when your mobile data cuts out at the stroke of half-time! Whilst for contributors it can be rewarding to have your work published and appreciated by your peers. So by having a regular fanzine published a few times each season, supporters can be brought together again to share creativity and ambition, reinforcing the foundations of Watford FC as a true community club.

From nostalgic pieces to statistical graphs; tactical analysis to funny Photoshops – with 52 pages of brilliant content by a range of contributors, issue one of ‘Golden Pages` is sure to keep you entertained both on match-days and at home.

Please buy a copy from one of the salespeople around the stadium for just £2 on May 2, before the Sheffield Wednesday game.

Copies will be available from around the ground, including Vicarage Road and the entrance by Cardiff Road. For those not attending the game, copies can be purchased online or at ‘The Kitchen Croxley’ in Croxley Green. Visit thegoldenpages.wordpress.com to order a copy online

Please also get in touch at watfordfanzine@gmail.com, on Facebook or on Twitter @watfordfanzine to suggest any ideas or contributions you might have for further issues!

Thank you, and we hope you enjoy it!
