The Hornets are interested in making an ambitious swoop for former loanee, Nathaniel Chalobah, reports the Daily Mail.

After a broken down loan move to French side Bordeaux, Chalobah is reported to be in demand for an emergency loan from Watford, Reading and Ipswich.

The twenty-old somewhat struggled to get into Sean Dyche’s Burnley side, after sealing a loan move to the Premier League new boys in the summer, but it was cut short.

His first spell of professional football came at Vicarage Road, when signed on loan from Chelsea by former boss Gianfranco Zola, who Chalobah looked up to closely, with him being a Chelsea legend and all.

He was a key player in the Watford team of the exciting and memorable 2012-13 season, and made just under forty appearances, netting five goals, not forgetting the screamer in the crucial game against Leicester.

The following season, despite being linked with a return to Hertfordshire he signed for Nottingham Forest on a short-term loan deal, then going on to play up Tees-side for Middlesbrough.

Watford could miss out on the signing of Jay Spearing, if Bolton don’t sign the players they have on their radar, and may turn to Nat.

When the England Under 21 midfielder returned to Stamford Bridge after that impressive spell at Watford, he signed a big money deal with the Blues, to tie him down for a longer duration of his bright future, so can we afford that?

Getting Nat in would be unlikely but a decent Guedioura replacement and what we need if we are to get to the top flight, interesting to see what happens.
