Watford boss Sean Dyche came away from Monday’s draw at home to Cardiff disappointed that his side had not taken all three points.
The Hornets took a 62nd minute lead through Prince Buaben before an Aidy Mariappa own-goal earnt Cardiff a share of the spoils.
Speaking to The Official Site, Dyche bemoaned the error by Scott Loach which saw Mariappa bag a second own-goal of the season:
‘An individual error has cost us again – that’s the reality of it.’
However, the gaffer praised his side’s performance, in particular, in the second-half where the Goldenboys were on top:
‘Even though Cardiff had most of that first spell of the game, I felt we actually had the better chances with their keeper being extended on more than one occasion.
‘We created plenty; before Prince (Buaben) scored and afterwards, too.’
Watford entertain Doncaster Rovers at the Vic’ on New Years Eve next.
