Watford`s three-point gainer from last night, Troy Deeney, has praised the Hornets faithful as they helped the Golden boys stroll to a 1-0 win over Fulham at Vicarage Road.

“The fans were top drawer,” the Hornets skipper told the club`s official site, going on to add, “The gaffer asked for it, and I asked for it in the programme notes.”

Despite the Hornets taking the lead in the first ten minutes of the game and securing three points after ninety minutes, Kit Symons` side were in control of the vast majority of the game and looked like they were on the brink of getting themselves back into it on several occasions.

“I think there were times in the game where they sensed that “right, we`re needed here” and they all got going,” Deeney added.

Watford have a very important set of fixtures coming, being in a key position in the league, and the Hornets number nine urges the supporters to continue their well received support.

“It wasn`t just the boys in the corner, it was from everywhere and it`s what we needed. There`s 11 games left now, and we need them to be with us.”

“There will be tough periods, it might not always go to plan. As we`ve proved, we can score goals right until the end, so stay with us.”
