New owner Laurence Bassini now has almost complete control of the club with the compulsory acquisition of the remaining 10% of shares well underway.

And, speaking through the Official Site, Bassini has offered his sympathies to supporters who have lost significant amounts of money investing in the club:

‘I do offer my sympathies to those who’ve effectively lost substantial sums of money simply through pledging their support to Watford.

‘A lot has happened in those 10 years, but that’s not something anyone can affect. I’m firmly fixed on the long-term future of this club. I’m here to invest in what the club will be, not to dwell on what it has been under entirely different ownership.’

It has also been revealed by the new owner that plans are being laid with regards to the South East corner, the pitch, the PA system, the big screen, East Stand and Red Lion pub.
