Prince Buaben has quickly apologized for his Twitter outburst following Saturday’s draw at home to Leeds United.

Lamenting referee Eddie Ilderton’s decision to hand Leeds a 95th minute penalty on Twitter, the Ghanain said:

@pbuaben ‘Absolutely p***ed off. F***ing robbed us. OMG [Oh my God] nearly hit this f***er.’

The former Dundee United midfielder quickly deleted the offending Tweet and issued an apology:

@pbuaben ‘I apologise for my language earlier on, just very upset.’

The Guardian were quick to pick up on Buaben’s misdemeanour, whilst also raising the point that Premier League footballers have been fined sizeable amounts of money for questioning the integrity or abusing officials in the past.

Whether or not Buaben will face Football League sanction remains to be seen.
