Bassini waiting on proof of funds

Hornet’s owner Laurence Bassini has told The Watford Observer that the takeover of the club will go through, so long as proof of funding is secured.

After an announcement earlier in the week that the takeover had been ‘agreed in principle’, Bassini has revealed that the deal will be done as soon as proof of funds is secured.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Bassini said:

‘We have agreed terms and now I am waiting for proof of funds to make sure the money is there and that they can take the club forward.’

The Hornet’s owner continued:

‘It is a significant sum I will receive but I want to know the club is in safe hands because a lot of good work has been done there.’

There had been rumours surfacing this morning from Italy that the deal could have hit a snag over the club’s debt.
