Audio – Cruel Defeat For Flores

Head coach Quique Sanchez Flores has said that Watford’s last minute defeat to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday was cruel and difficult to take.

Given the performance of the side and how justified a point would’ve been from the two one loss though, he couldn’t be anything but proud of the team for their efforts – especially once the side had gone down to ten men following the straight red card shown to on loan Chelsea player Nathan Ake.

Whilst Watford may not have done enough to have taken the win, and Spurs did have the greater chances on goal and off target across the game, the gaffer was content in knowing on another day it would’ve been a draw.

In any event he knew it was a thrilling game to watch.





Ben Watson was also interviewed immediately after the game and he admitted it was a tough defeat to take as well given the showing and the effort put in by the side.
