Watford boss Gianfranco Zola was magnanimous in defeat, admitting that Paul Jewell’s Ipswich Town deserved to beat the Hornets tonight.
A 90th minute goal from Michael Chopra at close-range secured the win for the Tractor Boys who ended their 15-match winless streak against Watford in the process.
Speaking afterwords to Sky Sports News, Zola admitted his side didn’t deserve three points:
‘Absolutely, no doubt about it. It is a fair result and the team who played better today has won the game,’ conceded Zola.
‘We could have won – that is the story.
‘We had a couple of very good chances, maybe three, which we could have scored but honestly, that wouldn’t have been fair, so I take it and I will learn from it.’
