Watford midfielder Lee Williamson has won the VitalWatford August Player of the Month title after an impressive start to the season.

The ex-Rotherham man picked up a stonking 40% of fans vote, leaving Lloyd Doyley and Tommy Smith to scrap it out for 2nd and 3rd, as Hornet followers had their say on the early season star performers.

Williamson, who learnt his trade at Mansfield and Northampton, has teamed up well for the Good Ship Boothroyd alongside Skipper Mahon in the engine room and proved himself to be a match-winner in the 1-0 home win over Sheff Utd.

Despite having nearly 250 career games under his belt, it`s been a rapid rise to fame for the 25 year old midfielder, who made his Watford debut in a 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford last season.

Good job son.
