Watford have handed a trial to former Espanyol and Chelsea midfielder Enrique De Lucas, as they look to bolster their engine room ahead of the Championship season.

The question is…will he dance, if they ask him to dance? Will he run and never look back?

The controversial Spaniard, who took on the Stamford Bridge legal team when he sued the Blues for breach of contract, started in Watford`s 1-1 friendly draw with Lleida yesterday and could well feature in the Hornets last pre-season friendly against Parma on Saturday.

Senor De Lucas played 31 appearances for Chelsea in the 2002-2003 Premier League season after signing on a free from Espanyol – scoring once in the UEFA Cup – but his record in La Liga is much more impressive, netting 16 times in 56 starts.

Those in the know at the W`Observer reckon Enrique ‘could be in line` for a move to Vicarage Road but fans are already concerned that the 30 year old, who is currently contracted to FC Murcia, could be direct replacement for Tommy Smith.

Meanwhile, Troyes trialist Claudio Beauvue has been sent back to France after failing to do enough to impress in the Spanish sun.
