The first in our annual series looking at the Watford FC future’s of those who are out of contract or favour

As the season draws to a close, it`s time for players, managers and the relevant hierarchy to sit down and discuss the future of certain players. In this series Vital Watford look at the futures of those who are out of contract, out of favour, or only on-loan at Vicarage Road.

This week it`s the turn of Martin Taylor. Get involved by commenting below to let us know whether or not you agree or disagree.

`Tiny` Taylor has suffered an extremely unfortunate 2011/12 season from where I`m standing. A serious injury suffered last Autumn set him back a good few months before the 32 broke his toe on comeback in a development match. Whilst he was away Nyron Nosworthy arrived on-loan from Sunderland, excelled and then signed permanently.

All that, coupled with the up-and-coming Dale Bennett, Adam Thompson and Tommie Hoban could well have weakened Taylor`s position at centre-back. However, football is all about taking your opportunities and when Adrian Mariappa was sidelined recently, Taylor stepped in to partner Nosworthy and has himself excelled, gelling a lot better than expected with the big Brixton-born bruiser.

At 32, Taylor is no spring chicken, however in a squad that relies on a central core of experience, Taylor has absolutely proven his worth to the team over the last month. With Mariappa one of the most coveted players at the club, you have to fear that the vice-captain will be leaving this summer, and if Taylor is his replacement I don`t think we`ve got much to fear.

Give him another years contract

Glad you agree Old Yella. Think he’s been excellent the last couple of weeks.

I really do think Mapps & Taylor will leave in the summer… Taylor still lives in the Midlands so I bet he’ll be off to Cov or someone round there.. Mapps who knows.. Prob just to the highest bidder.. Plus if Murrey is advised badly & if someone is willing to take a chance he could well be off too… We’ve seen things like that before.. The likes of Buckley for one… I also wouldn’t be surprised if Prince wants out too… I think Next season will be the year of the youngster for the Hornets… I think SD should preempt & play a few of the kids from now on for the rest of this season… It’s good to see Thompson is doing great at the bees.. I think he has played quite a few games this loan & in return Brentford have done well in their league… I do also think that John Eustice has seamed very tired out the last few matches… I don’t know if he can cope with another long hard season… He try’s loads but to me he just seams ether just tired or not interested anymore when there’s not much to play for… He’s love for just playing isn’t there to me which seams an age thing.. Plus with the likes of Kuszczak going back or out on loan again.. We’ll have Loach back between the sticks… We all know what Loach is capable of don’t we.. Fine saves one second & absolute nightmares the next.. All in all a very hard season 2012-13, but like always we’ll all be there hoping & believing again…..
