With the season winding down, it`s the time of year players, managers and chief executives sit down and decide on the futures of the playing staff. With that in mind, and coupled with the Hornet`s tight financial belt ,VitalWatford will be taking a look at those who are out of contract, on loan or out of favour at the Vic` ahead of the Summer.

Today it`s the turn of Danny Drinkwater

Hardly impressive is the best way to describe the Manchester United youngsters loan. He rarely featured at Cardiff and subsequently has done exactly the same at Vicarage Road making just three starts since arriving in January.

He looks lazy, off the pace and rarely gets his head up to make the simple pass. For a young lad fighting for a future at Manchester United at 21, he`s shown very little.

Another note – does he have a clause saying he MUST feature at some point – because every week he seems to come off the bench in spite of the situation and knowing he`ll add nothing. Odd.

He`s probably a decent player but without regular football he has struggled massively. I doubt we`ll see him back on loan next season and he`ll end up at Preston or Sheffield United in League One – seems about his level.
