The Sun are back to their meddling best this morning linking Watford midfielder John Joe O`Toole with a £1m move to St James Park in the January transfer window.
Apparently the Irish connection (ie caretaker boss Joe Kinnear, who won`t even be there in the new year) could be enough to the encourage the youngster to leave the comforts of Vicarage Road and spread his wings to become a fully fledged Magpie.
O`Toole has shot to popularity with the Watford faithful thanks to 7 goals in 12 games this season from midfield BUT there are plenty of Hornets fans who reckon his goals don`t go far enough to hide holes elsewhere in his game.
Let`s be realistic though, £1m would certainly ring a few bells with the cash strapped Watford board – especially for a potential rough diamond who cost the club nothing.
