Watford are looking to boost their striking options with a non-league rough-diamond according to sources.

Romulus forward Marvin Johnson is the man who is believed to have caught the eye of the Hornets’ recruitment team.

The striker has grabbed 16 goals already this term for Romulus who ply their trade in the EVO-STIK NPL Division One South – two levels below the Conference National.

Johnson came through the ranks at Solihull Moors before joining Romulus last season where he has been contracted since.

The pacey forward hit double figures last season despite ‘an injury hit campaign’ and has already broken that milestone this season.

At least one other Championship club is believed to be interested.
