It’s being reported this afternoon that Watford are now close to capturing Gothenburg’s young goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.
Dahlberg’s name has been doing the rounds this week but Sky Sports have reported today that their sources believe a £3.5million deal is close to being agreed for the Swedish stopper and they say he’s already completed his medical ahead of a switch to Vicarage Road.
Sky say the plan is he’ll make the permanent switch but will instantly be loaned back out for the remainder of the campaign to continue getting game time before we take a far closer look at him next season.
Having impressed for his country’s youth sides, 19 year old Dahlberg already has one senior cap for Sweden and at club level he began his career at Alvangen IK before joining Gothenburg in 2015, where he made 29 league appearances which all came last season with the campaign ending in November.
