Watford have warned off interest from a host of Premier League big boys (and Man City) by signing up Scott Loach on a new contract until 2012.

The Hornet`s England U21 goalkeeper capped a dream season by agreeing an extension on his contract which will see him stay between the sticks at Vicarage Road for the next 3 years – despite interest from the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs to name but 3.

Loach had 15 months left to run on his initial deal but Brendan Rodgers has been so impressed with the Young Lion in his 35 appearances this season that he has rewarded the former Lincoln trainee with improved terms.

But it`s all come as a bit of shock even to Scott – who let`s not forget was shoved out on loan to Stafford, Morecambe and Bradford 12 months – and he revealed “I didn`t expect to be signing a new contract this season”.

He added “?we are going to go far and to be part of that makes me feel so wanted – I`m over the moon”.

Ah bless.
