It’s not been a busy day or so of rumours but there’s certainly one doing the rounds regarding a player, and plenty circulating regarding the future of Malky Mackay.

The player in question is Spurs exciting young winger, Andros Townsend.

Formerly of Leyton Orient and Ipswich Town for loan spells the winger-cum-striker was hauled back to White Hart Lane by Harry Redknapp as he felt the winger was not being used enough at Portman Road.

Several sources are reporting that Townsend will move on loan to Vicarage Road for the rest of the season in the coming days to add an extra wide option along with Don Cowie and Will Buckley.

Of course, the big news surrounds Burnley, Norwich City and just about Watford.

Burnley were last night denied permission by the board of Norwich City to speak to their manager Paul Lambert.

With Lambert and Mackay the favourites to be appointed to the Claret’s hot seat, Mackay may soon be subject of an approach from the Lancashire outfit’s hierarchy.

However, if Lambert does make the move to Turf Moor then Norwich may themselves make a move for former player and fans favourite, Malky.

Talk about a vicious circle.
