Nearly a week into January and it’s been a quiet one for the Hornets, apart from the plentiful loan coming’s and going’s for the clubs young stars.

Perhaps it’s down to the fact we’re doing well and punching way above our weight for the first time in several seasons that the Hornet’s have only been linked with two players so far.

The first player linked with the Hornet’s is former DutchU21 defender, Jeroen Drost. Currently contracted by until 2013 by Vitesse Arnham, Drost has told he can leave the Dutch side on a free transfer.

Malky Mackay has sent scouts to track the left-back in recent matches and Drost will come to England for a trial on January 8th according to the player:

‘This is a good chance, with a good club.

‘I will take a look at the club, train there and afterwards we will talk further.

‘They have seen me play against NAC Bredaand FC Twente. I have followed their results and they are doing well.

‘I don’t know what Vitesse want. Maybe they want to loan me out.’

The other player being linked with a move to Vicarage Road is Celtic centre-back-cum-left-back, Milan Misun.

The Czech Republic U21 cap is also a target for fellow Championship side, Middlesbrough, managed by former Bhoys gaffer, Tony Mowbray.

‘It is a little bit startling because on 30th August the manager, Neil Lennon, assured us Milanwas third choice centre-back for Celtic.’ said his agent, Ondrej Chovanec.

Chovanec also confirmed there is interest in the 20 year-old from Germany and the Czech Republic.
