Watford have one of the biggest squads in the Championship but gaffer Aidy Boothroyd reckons he`s gonna need all of his 38-man first team squad firing if the Hornets want promotion.

Boothroyd has seemingly refound a winning formula in recent weeks thanks to the addition of January signings Leigh Bromby, Matt Sadler and John Eustace but the boss insists his fringe players hold the key to success in what he dubs “the toughest Championship run-in ever”.

In his weekly email to supporters Boothroyd commented “There`s no doubt for me that people like Collins John, Lionel Ainsworth, Steve Kabba and so on will have a part to play in the race for the title and they had better believe me when I say they need to be ready for their chance?”

And he`s confident he has the tools at his disposal to finish the job, insisting “I can look at a group of players that give me plenty of options for the different challenges we are going to face in the these final 12 games.”

Let`s hope so.
