Lord Michael Ashcroft, Hornet’s majority shareholder has opened preliminary discussions with an unknown party to sell his 37% majority shareholding in Watford Leisure PLC.
The news was this morning confirmed by BBC Sport
This morning, Ashcroft’s company FordWat released the following statement:
‘[Talks are] at a very early stage and there can be no certainty that an offer for the company will be forthcoming.
‘A further announcement will be made in due course.’
Fingers crossed talks will develop positively and Ashcroft will sell up. Hopefully Ashcroft will be desperate to sell and avoid losing any more money in an investment that has hardly been plain sailing for him.
