The Hornets are weighing up a decision to extend the loan spell of Adlene Guedioura, as his loan is set to expire in January.

The Palace midfielder has missed out on an Algeria call up for the squad to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations, and the Watford Observer understands that Watford will look into extending Guedioura’s stay.

Guedioura first start was fairly eye-catching in the Golden Boys’ previous game, against Reading at the Madejski, with his work in midfield being part of the winning goal for Jokanovic’s side.

The former Forest midfielder will no doubt want to stay with the Hornets, as game time at the Eagles looks very unlikely.

Lewis McGugan’s loan move at Sheffield Wednesday also expires in January, but with the twenty-six year old looking likely for an extended or even permanent move away from Hertfordshire, Watford will be hoping Guedioura can fill in his gap for a longer period.

The Algerian has made four appearances for Watford so far.
