Young defenders Tom Aldred and Eddie Oshodi have been left the club following the mutual termination of their contracts.

Home-grown defender Eddie Oshodi was expected to leave after some revealing Tweets yesterday, but Aldred’s departure comes as a surprise having begun the season on loan at Inverness.

Aldred returned from his loan spell with the SPL side early and has today left the club for good without making a single appearance.

The 20 year-old arrived from Carlisle United last summer following a tribunal but spent the season on-loan at Bradford and Stockport.

Oshodi on the other hand made two senior appearances in the league and league cup, both as a substitute.

Speaking to the Watford Observer, Oshodi said:

“I have been at the club since I was nine and I have nothing but love and respect for Watford.

“I recognised I needed to find a fresh start and I am hoping to do that really soon.’

Meanwhile, on the ‘in’ front, Sky Sports News believe Watford are interested in bringing Nottingham Forest forward Joe Garner to the club.

The former Carlisle United and Blackburn Rovers youngster has failed to earn a regular first-team spot at the City ground but impressed on loan at Scunthorpe last season and had scored 19 in 47 league starts for the Cumbrians prompting a seven-figure move to Forest.
