According to Sky Sports a loan approach for Newcastle’s Tim Krul is being ‘considered’ ahead of the transfer deadline.

Injury to Costel Pantilimon in Watford’s FA Cup defeat at Millwall means the Hornets are short of experienced cover for no.1 Heurelho Gomes. Krul could potentially end a loan with Ajax to join from Newcastle in a similar arrangement.

Walter Mazzarri could make do with what he has but Lithuanian international Giedrius Arlauskis only has two appearances for Watford under his belt with Rene Gilmartin not making a first team experience at all.

However, Krul has a wealth of experience having made over 200 appearances for Newcastle. The 28 year old Dutch international hasn’t made an appearance at Ajax so his season-long loan could be cut short to accommodate this move.

One of the players that should complete his exit today is Odion Ighalo according to Sky sources.

Chinese club Changchun Yatai have reportedly agreed a £20m deal with Watford to sign the Nigerian international.
