Watford Competing With Leicester For Hull Keeper?

Marco Silva’s apparent search for a rival to Heurelho Gomes, in fact a long-term replacement, could see him reunited with his former Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic, according to ClubCall.

Watford have already been linked with Juventus keeper Norberto Neto, so far this speculation hasn’t amounted to anything.

Upon his appointment at the KCOM Stadium Silva instantly installed Swiss keeper Jakupovic as his first choice at Hull, dropping the previously signed David Marshall, so rumoured interest shouldn’t be surprising. Then again such links are easy to claim.

Gomes, 36, is still the top man at Vicarage Road but even the best need to be kept on their toes and the Brazilian would have to be at his best if Jakupovic did end up joining Watford as he wouldn’t be joining the Hornets to be a mere bench warmer.

Leicester are also being linked with it claimed £1.7m bids have come in from both clubs with it quite simply down to the Swiss to decide where he wants to go?

Another player who could – I use the term loosely – arrive at Watford this summer is PSV Eindhoven full back Joshua Brenet.

I say loosely as representatives of Dutch international Brenet, 23, have apparently told the Watford Observer ‘no deal had been struck, or was in discussion, over a move to Vicarage Road’ but they didn’t rule out the situation – his leaving PSV – changing.

So, basically something of a non-starter really?
