According to Sky Sports, Watford are close to reaching an agreement with Derby for Will Hughes.

Highly rated, Hughes has so often linked with a Premier League move over the years, including a £15m switch to Liverpool. He is currently on U21 international duty with England at the European Championships but this isn’t preventing talks over a potential switch to Vicarage Road.

An agreement on a deal which could rise to £8m for Hughes is close, reports Sky Sports. But this isn’t close enough to bring about the medical, quite simply due to the fact he’s otherwise engaged in Poland.

Hughes, 22, burst onto the scene as a 16 year old at Derby in 2011, but suffered a serious crucial knee ligament injury in 2015 that kept him out for eight month.

Now seen as back to his best at Derby, having previously resisted the temptation to sale, the Rams could relent with Marco Silva making the highly rated Hughes his first Watford signing?
