Oh, reffing hell! Cambridgeshire official Darren Deadman took the brunt of Malky Mackay`s fury last night as the Hornets gaffer was back – once again – left ranting at “unacceptable” refereeing following the 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Watford boss, who has urged fans to “please keep the faith”, is himself beginning to lose more and more patience with the men in black with lady luck clearly not wanting to play any part in the Hornets bid to beat the drop.

After slamming the officials in games against Forest, Swansea, Scunthorpe and Derby, Mackay had every right to be incensed after Deadman managed to turn a deserved draw into an undeserved defeat

…only for the ref to admit himself he got to wrong!

Claims for a ‘rock solid penalty` with 10 minutes to go – following a blatant spot of basketball in the area by a Wednesday defender stopped Demerits ball in from causing havoc – were WRONGLY turned away.

And Wednesday completed their unlikely smash and grab` job whilst Cleverley was off the pitch being treated for ‘a nasty challenge` by Darren Potter that again went unpunished by the inept Deadman.

Mackay, who is fast becoming the new Warnock for his ref ranting, stated We`ve had some real strange decisions this year but I look at the 2 late on and I cannot believe it?How the referee missed the knee in the back of Tom I will never know“.

After feeling his side were “in control of the game“, Malky added “?the players reaction shows it was a blatant penalty?[I have seen it in the DVD and it is blatant] – For the referee not to give it is unacceptable

And to make matters worse. Ref Deadman, even had the front to apologise to the Hornets coaching staff for getting his decisions wrong.

Clearly left with a rather nasty taste in his mouth (sour grapes perhaps?), Malky confirmed “The referee apologised at the end of the game for missing the foul – it is a hard one to take. When I get an apology from the referee saying ‘Sorry, I missed it` it is unacceptable“.

TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
(but, here at VitalWatford Tower’s, we’re not sure if that’s aimed at our performance, our 1 shot at goal or the ref)
