A day or so after a Leicester offer for Troy Deeney was made Watford have, according to what Sky sources understand, made a bid for West Brom’s Saido Berahino?

This bid would be a club record bid although this wouldn’t be to the level of bids Tottenham and Newcastle have previously failed with, which were above the £20m mark Leicester failed with when looking to tempt Watford into selling Deeney.

With Jamie Vardy’s move to Arsenal still up in the air the thought is Watford are moving quickly as Leicester could also have an interest in Berahino, with Sky Sports saying the Hornets are one of three Premier League clubs who have reportedly ‘enquired’ about the former England U21 international.

Berahino’s had a well documented ‘difficult’ 12-months or so at the Hawthorns but appeared to settle his differences with West Brom after the January transfer window closed with a deadline day offer from Newcastle failing.

As he’s only got a year left on his contract, despite saying the 22-year-old wouldn’t be sold (and definitely ‘not on the cheap’), West Brom’s stance could change this summer but if this sees him come to Vicarage Road is another matter isn’t it!
