Watford achieved an impressive 2-1 victory this afternoon in a friendly against a good Queen’s Park Rangers line-up.

Two goals from Fernando Forestieri saw the Hornets come back from behind after Jay Bothroyd has opened the scoring for the R’s.

Forestieri equalised moments later with a shot from the edge of the box and won it late on after being played in by substitute Luke O’Nien.

There was important game time for Watford players such as Mark Yeates, who captained the side, whilst Adam Thompson played his first 90 minute since January and Prince Buaben got 65 minutes under his belt following a hamstring complaint.

The QPR line-up included experienced players such as goal scorer Bothroyd, Shaun Derry and Junior Hoilett.

Watford XI: Bonham; Thompson, Bevans, Forsyth; Murray, Jenkins (Tumwa), Buaben (O’Nien), Yeates, Pudil (Hamilton-Forbes); Mensah (Connolly) & Forestieri.
