Young midfielder Josh Walker has this afternoon returned to Vicarage Road early after an unsuccessful loan spell with Stevenage.

The 22 year-old former Middlesbrough man made just six substitute appearances during his loan period with Graham Westley’ side.

Walker’s initial loan spell was due to expire at the beginning of January. However, Walker has returned to the Vic’ as it is in ‘his best interests’ according to Sean Dyche.

The gaffer told the Official Site why Walker was better served in WD18:

‘With this in mind, and with limited game time for Josh, he’s back here to get involved in training once again and take part in our development matches until he’s available for us in January.’

Walker’s contract expires at the end of the season and as he’s unable to represent the first-team until January, his chances of a new contract are looking slimmer than ever.
