Having failed to make an impression at the Vic’ in the first few months of his Hornet’s career, Josh Walker has joined League Two side Stevenage on-loan until January.

The former Middlesbrough man has been limited to a handful of sub appearances and striker Troy Deeney was preferred in midfield to the former England Youth skipper against Reading last weekend.

Speaking of the decision to let Walker move out on loan, Mackay said:

‘Josh and I were both in agreement that several full 90 minutes’ worth of League football is just what he needs right now.

‘His time on the pitch has suffered due to the form of other players in the squad.

‘It’s five weeks for him at a good standard.

‘We both feel it will be very beneficial – with the view that he’ll come back in January to once again challenge for a starting berth.’
Mackay told the Official Site.

Good luck Josh!
