Defeated opposing managers whining about the state of Watford’s pitch will be a thing of the past as the Vicarage Road surface is now virtually ready to host football matches once more.
The Hornet’s home ground resembled a farmer’s field at times last season but the new surface looks fit to host a game of bowls.
All that remains is for the top layer to be completed and the Hornet’s will be ready to face Tottenham Hotspur for Lloyd Doyley’s testimonial on August 5 with a perfect pitch.
