Fearing they were missing out on a spot of media attention, Exeter City have jumped aboard the speculation merri-go-round that is the managerial vacancy at Vicarage Road – insisting Watford have been in touch (they think!).

The Grecians, whose manager Paul Tisdale has been linked with each and every managers job so far this summer, reckon that the Hornets are interested in taking the League 2 Manager of the Year to Hertfordshire.

But then it all goes a bit vague to be honest. Speaking to the Devon Express & Echo, Exeter`s sporting director (really?) states that the newly promoted League One outfit “received a call enquiring about Tisdale`s availability” but then confirmed “the approach was not made by an official from Watford”?

So, in fact, it might not have been Watford declaring their “apparent interest” at all then maybe and that the sensationlist headline “Hornets came calling for Tisdale” is a bit wide of the mark perhaps?

It must be a slow news day in Devon and the St James Park media team are keen to keep themselves on the newswires?.

Here at VitalWatford, we just love their chase for column inches mind you.
