Watford talent Richarlison has again been coy over speculation linking him with a possible move to Chelsea over the summer.

Chelsea have become to go to club for the media when it comes to Richarlison’s future, and there was talk of a move abroad as well given how well he began life in the Premier League – five goals and four assists – following his £11.5million arrival from Fluminense last summer.

With a dip in form, based on his earlier standards of late – completely natural for a young player let alone one moving to a different country – speculation linking him with Chelsea, and then latterly Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur just won’t go away.

The player also isn’t stamping that speculation out when the opportunity arises.

The Evening Standard quoted the player earlier today about his future.

‘In the future you never know but I leave all things like that up to my agents. At the moment my head is completely in Watford. I am not thinking about anything else and I want to help the team get as far as possible in the League. That is my objective, that is my focus and nothing else.’

Not as strong as it could’ve been but it is what it is. In our favour though the 20 year old has agreed a five year deal said to be worth £20,000 a week when he joined, so we are under no speedy obligation to let him go and chief executive Scott Duxbury was adamant back in November that he wouldn’t be going anywhere in January as we saw his future with us for ‘many more’ years to come.

Richarlison should be destined for the top, but there are areas of his game to work as well as issues of consistency, and the best way for him to develop further is via games, rather than a big money move and sitting on the bench slipping from sight.
