Highly-rated young Hornet’s defender Adam Thompson has this morning joined Wycombe Wanderers on a month’s loan deal.

The Northern Irish international played the full 90 minutes in Watford’s Capital One Cup second round defeat by Bradford City and will now head out on-loan to increase his playing time.

Wycombe have lost both their right backs to injury, including former Hornet’s scholar Marvin McCoy who came off injured when the two sides met in the first round of the League Cup in early August.

Speaking to The Watford Observer about the deal, Chairboy’s manager Gary Waddock was pleased to get his man:

‘He`s been on our radar for quite some time now and we`re delighted we`ve been able to bring him to the club,’ admitted Waddock.

‘He`s got international experience, played in the Championship and in League One. We also watched him on Tuesday night and he played very well.’

Thompson impressed during two loan spells at Brentford last term.

Good luck Adam!
