Watford youngsters Adam Thompson and Ross Jenkins yesterday put pen-to-paper on new three-year deals at Vicarage Road.

As Vital Watford reported a few weeks back, Jenkins has extended his stay at the Vic’ until at least 2014 whilst Thompson has signed his second professional contract having turned pro’ at the back end of last year.

Both played impressive parts in the season just gone with Thompson breaking into the side as a scholar before turning professional.

Jenkins played second-fiddle to skipper John Eustace for the first-half of the season before filling in when the 31 year-old midfield lynchpin was injured.

The academy graduate impressed enough to secure a regular place once Eustace regained fitness in the more advanced three midfield slots.

Thompson also made his senior debut for Northern Ireland in a hugely impressive breakthrough campaign. In total, Thompson made 11 appearances last month scoring against PNE whilst Jenkins made 22, scoring just his second senior goal in the demolition of Sheffield United.

Congratulations to both Adam and Ross.
