18 year old Ben Gill says he was right to leave Arsenal for Watford in the summer. The player, who is seen as a great prospect, said: ‘At the moment, coming here looks like the right move. Since I’ve come to Watford, I’ve been very happy with my performances, and very happy to be here. I’ve been gaining confidence, and playing better than I have been for a while.’

41 year old Player/coach Alec Chamberlain says 22 year old goalkeeper Ben Foster has a lot to learn and will get better as time goes on despite some outstanding performances already! Chamberlain also says of Foster: ‘His kicking is breathtaking. Even in the Premiership, I do not see a keeper who can kick the ball further than Ben.’

Dominic Blizzard is a few weeks away from returning to fitness following a virus. ‘He is now in a state of post-viral fatigue. Dominic’s starting to get on the road to recovery but it will be a good few weeks before he’s back fully involved in training and matches.’

Jay DeMerit says that Malky Mackay has ‘been a massive help to me. He’s always got a word of encouragement or advice on the training pitch. When he joined the club, I decided to watch him closely to see what I could learn, and he is an example for me to aspire to.’ Which is nice judging by the fact DeMerit is keeping his fellow defender out of the team!

The 25 year old defender has also explained why Watford are flying so high this season: ‘Training’s been excellent this season. The players believe in their own ability and feed off the great coaching sessions we get every day. There’s great competition all over the field, and that’s clearly helped the club up to third place.’

Tickets are still available for Watford’s home game against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend. The Ticket Office number is 0870 111 1881.
