Hornet’s boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that as expected Martin Taylor injured his collarbone in the Crystal Palace defeat.

The giant centre-half will now be out for ‘weeks not days’ according to Dyche.

‘Tiny’ Taylor has been a virtual ever-present for the ‘Orns and missed just a few minutes of last season.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Dyche said:

‘Unfortunately we are talking about weeks not days out for Martin, although it is hard to give an exact timescale at the moment.

‘Unfortunately injuries are the reality of football and they can strike at any time. It was a freak one in the way it happened, that’s for sure.’

David Mirfin is expected to step in for the 31 year-old former Birmingham centre-half.
