Having recorded a first win in nine, Watford head to the Liberty Stadium, home of the high-flying Swans.

Brendan Rodgers’ side went down 1-0 in a shock result at Scunthorpe on Saturday and will be looking to build up a lead over South Wales rivals Cardiff City in the automatic promotion race.

Ashley Williams post Scunthorpe

‘It hurts that we didn’t get the three points and open up a gap because we want to win every game. But we’ve got to put it to bed now, move on and not let it affect us.

‘The fact that the Watford fixture comes so soon makes it the perfect game to bounce back. They are a tough team and we will have to play well to get anything out of the game.

‘We’ve got to use all the frustrations from Scunthorpe on them and go on another winning run.’

Swansea City Team News:

Skipper Gary Monk and midfielder Andrea Orlandi have both been declared fit for full training so may be an outside chance to make the clash.

Line-up Vs. Scunthorpe: De Vries; Rangel, Tate (c), Williams, Taylor; Brittain, Gower, Allen, Dyer; Sinclair; Beattie.

Player to watch: Scott Sinclair

The 500k outlay made by Swansea in the transfer window has been made to look like blinding business thanks to the former Chelsea youngster’s 16 league goals.

Sinclair first became known during an impressive eight-game loan spell at Plymouth in 2007. Since then the 21 year-old has turned out for QPR, Charlton, Birmingham and Wigan on loan before settling permanently in South Wales.

Fast and tricky, the 5’7′ winger will provide the Hornet’s backline with a tough challenge.

Watford Team News:

Will Buckley returned to action in the Millwall win and John Eustace returns from suspension meaning Ross Jenkins should drop to the bench.

Striker Troy Deeney could be replaced in midfield by Matty Whichelow after Malky Mackay resisted to pick him due to the Vicarage Road pitch.

Lloyd Doyley is out for two to three weeks whilst Stephen McGinn is the only long-term problem.

Manchester United loanee Danny Drinkwater is yet to return from Manchester United after suffering a knock at Doncaster.

Likely Line-up: Loach; Thompson, Mariappa, Taylor, Hodson; Eustace (c); Cowie, Whichelow, Buckley; Weimann and Graham.

Player to watch: Danny Graham

The former Carlisle forward grabbed his 21st goal of the season in all competitions against Millwall on Saturday and with creator-in-chief Will Buckley back, Graham will be looking for his first 20-goal league campaign in the remaining weeks.

Match Prediction:

I – like many ‘Orns would take a point, but 75% of optimistic Vital Hornet’s say we’re going to win. How much of that is anti-Rodgers’ bias I wonder?

Probably a Swans victory.
